The Indian government is now poised to grant foreign companies extended tax breaks until 2041, a move that could give Apple an even greater advantage in the market.

The proposed tax exemptions, which will apply to manufacturers of mobile phones, tablets, laptops, hearing aids, and wearable electronic devices, aim to provide "tax certainty" for foreign companies that provide equipment to their contract manufacturers in India.
